Dear Journal,
Dear journal. Whats so dear about a journal? I never understood the intricacies involved with writing down your feelings and emotions, the days events, etcetera etcetera etcetera. The last time I did this, I was a second grader at an elementary school in the Bronx. It was mandatory to write in every Friday and hand in at the end of school day. I usually bullshit everything I wrote. Its not like an eight year old in a shoddy educational environment where you had to walk through metal detectors in order to get in the building, was capable of producing literary masterpieces.
This time around, I suppose it's my way of achieving catharsis. That, and what if I was to be stricken with a case of amnesia from some random blunt trauma to the head or get early Alzheimer? Thats why I sketched (I'm no Picasso or anything, its just a fleeting hobby of mine, among other things. I'll get to that later) this vain portrait of myself sans the sparkling pearly whites because sure, if I WAS hit with memory loss, I wouldn't be able to know my name.
